MAPS APS 是一種高容量類比 2-Wire FXO/FXS 或 4-Wire E&M Bulk Call Generator，可對 Central Office、PBX、Analog Telephone Adapter、Gateway 或其他提供 local loop interfaces 的電信設備執行 QA tests。它包含 server hardware、GL MAPS software 與 channel bank(s)，以及選配模組（Fax Emulation 和 Voice Quality Testing Analysis），整合於一套緊湊型 rackmount system 中。MAPS APS system 每台 1U MAPS APS/ALS server 最多支援 96 個獨立 FXO ports 或 FXS ports。透過簡單擴充系統容量，使用搭載 2 張 Octal T1 E1 Cards 的 4U MAPS APS Server，最多可支援 384 個 analog ports。

MAPS APS 支援 Supplementary Service Testing 與 Interactive Voice Response (IVR)，其運作依賴使用者輸入的 DTMF digits 或 tones，系統會根據這些輸入提供對應選單，以自動化各種服務給使用者。並提供高密度連接能力，可連接任何 2-wire analog interface 以進行完整自動化的客製化測試。

MAPS platform 提供自動化、可腳本控制（scripted）、多使用者（multi-user）、多協定（multi-protocol）以及高容量的 Bulk Call Generation。此平台是所有 signaling protocols 與 traffic generation 的基礎，無論是 voice、tones、digits、fax、data 或 video，皆可依據網路支援進行測試。MAPS 涵蓋傳統 PSTN、TDM、SONET SDH、次世代 VoIP，以及無線通訊 protocols、interfaces 與 equipment。MAPS 可在 TDM networks 中支援以下任一 protocols，以建立 signaling links 並產生或接收 traffic：CAS、FXO FXS、ISDN、SS7、PPP、GSM、INAP、CAP 和 MAP。
