Teledyne LeCroy offers the award-winning Xena platform for generating Ethernet traffic, physical layer testing and network emulation.

The platform consists of 12 Xena Ethernet Traffic Generators and 2 chassis options, for conducting a wide range of test scenarios for all Ethernet speeds from 10Mbps up to 800Gbps.

Xena also offers a dedicated network emulation test module – E100 Chimera – for impairing traffic with various forms of latency and jitter at wire-speed up to 100Gbps.

All the Xena Ethernet traffic generator and network emulation test modules include powerful options for Physical Layer testing.

All Xena solutions come bundled with comprehensive software. XenaManager is the main Windows PC client used for configuring and running traffic, there are standalone apps for running industry-standard RFC2544, 2889, 3918 & Y.1564 tests, plus comprehensive open-source automation and scripting options, collectively called Xena OpenAutomation (XOA).

Xena Ethernet Traffic Generators are divided into four categories, named after gods from Nordic mythology. Z10 Odin traffic generators test up to 10Gbps, Z100 Loki tests up to 100Gbps, Z400 Thor tests up to 400Gbps PAM4, and the Z800 Freya traffic generators can test up to 800Gbps using 56G &112G PAM4 SerDes traffic.

The Xena E100 Chimera is a dedicated network emulation test module for impairing traffic with various forms of latency and jitter at wire-speed up to 100Gbps. It has the industry’s highest port density and works seamlessly with Xena traffic generators, uniquely allowing users to generate and impair traffic via the same GUI.

Choice of Chassis – The Xena traffic generators and network emulation test modules can be installed in either our 4U 12-slot modular “Bay” chassis or individually in our easy-to-transport 1U fixed “Compact” chassis. With 12 slots, the Bay chassis is a scalable solution, available in 2 versions. The B720 is perfect for all the Odin traffic generators, while the B2400 is for customers using Loki, Thor, Freya and Chimera NICs which require more power and ventilation.
